ok. this is part of that series the one pic w/ the wings was from, and i actually had to recreate this image b/c i gave the original (and only print) i made to the chap pictured, whose name is brett, for those who want to know.
the reason there was only one pring is b/c this was a bitch to make.
want me to explain? i will anyway.

ok. so i had two negs, obviously, on two different enlargers. one of these negs i had to invert b/c they were all shots of him facing the same direction. anyway, i had a transparency i had drawn the stitches on, and i taped that to the photo paper. i then had to burn each side for the face, but while doing that i had to dodge the area in front of the face and the other half of the paper (both of which i didnt do very well in this print b/c it was still a preliminary print). mind you, it's hard to dodge two different areas and try to figure out how to turn the bloody enlarger's lamp on at the same time. after i did the two sides i had to place a piece of rubilithe over the top of the photo which i had scratched the letters into, and exposed that to pure light. develop, and voila! magnifique eh?
the only part i had to recreate on this version was the text, i only made the one print w/ text b/c Brett specifically requested those lyrics (from an Elliott Smith song, which is the title of this image) to be placed in the background for his copy, and i ended up liking it so much i used it for the project, then gave it to him.

so there you have it. insanity in the making
right here.
i loved making this image, but it was a pain in the ass

I like this...neat effect. The concept leaves me somewhat of wonder, but nevertheless, creative.

This is seriously strange... I just recently finished a painting of two heads that were connected but slowly coming apart (ex. the skin from the ears was stretched and kind of oozing). It makes me smile a little bit.

As does the photo in general... It's very creative and i like it a lot.
